Halian - Data Center Technician

Halian is looking for a standard level Data Centre Technician to work on a managed services contract with a major European Institution in Luxembourg.


Main activities

  • Uses the JIRA ticketing tool to report, follow and eventually escalated incidents of all allocated tasks,
  • Supports the availability of infrastructure equipment for IT services in terms of : electricity, cooling, connectivity and security,
  • Analyses risk and evaluate impacts of technical incident occurring in the data centres on IT equipment and services,
  • Controls and documents the connections (power cabling and cabinet breakers),
  • Sustains and monitors: the internal and external technical guidelines, work in progress with our standards, access requests and technical inventory
  • Provides support and helps to take decisions together with the Team Leader,
  • Write technical reports, provide regular operational reporting
  • Cooperate in projects and control the Hardware installation in regards of the manufacturer best practice,
  • Tracks and follows resolution of incidents,
  • Manages the stock of the cabling furniture.



  • General IT infrastructure equipment knowledge
  • Network Wiring, electricity, cooling and fire detection knowledge
  • Inventory and lifecycle management
  • Standard user knowledge of MS Office suite (word, Excel, power point, Visio...)
  • Standard usage of ticketing tool
  • Understanding project scheduling and managing tools (Microsoft Project or other equivalent tool)
  • Standard user knowledge of a monitoring tool (SNMP or equivalent tool)
  • Knowledge of Raritan Dctrack is considered as an advantage
  • ITIL Foundation certification (at least V2.0)
  • Languages : English B2 (Mandatory) and French B2 (Advantage)
  • Equivalence in years of experience in IT: 2 / 5
  • Experience required in a similar position, domain and environment: 2
