We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a cross-functional engineering team focused on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud platforms. You'll play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud environments that empower the digital energy transition — ensuring efficiency, security, and reliability across complex systems.
As a cloud expert, you'll collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other IT professionals to drive automation, optimize infrastructure, and continuously improve operational excellence.
Your responsibilities
- Cloud deployment & configuration:
- Provision and configure Azure cloud resources using standardized deployment models.
- Manage and optimize networking, governance, and access control across environments.
- Automation & infrastructure as code (IaC):
- Develop and maintain TerraForm scripts for consistent infrastructure deployment.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or ArgoCD for automation and release management.
- Security & compliance:
- Apply and maintain strong security practices — including Firewalls, encryption, and identity management (Entraid, Azure Policies, Defender).
- Ensure adherence to internal and regulatory frameworks (ISO, NIS2, etc.).
- Operations & Incident management:
- Monitor and maintain workloads, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and apply preventive measures.
- Collaboration & continuous improvement:
- Partner with developers and stakeholders to align infrastructure with business needs.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in cloud operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, automation, and innovation.
Your profile
- Experience & certifications:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud engineering or administration
- Certified Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or higher
- (Optional) AZ-700, AZ-500, or Cka certifications are a plus.
- Technical expertise:
- Deep understanding of Azure networking (Vnets, Nsgs, Azure Firewall, WAF, Private Endpoints, Hub & Spoke model).
- Strong knowledge of Azure governance and cost management.
- Skilled in TerraForm (HCL) and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, and monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Opentelemetry.
- Familiarity with databases (Azure SQL, MongoDB) and security principles (Defender, PIM)
- Soft skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities within technical teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in an agile environment
- Nice to have:
- Experience with Azure API Management or Kong.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Basic proficiency in French or Dutch (B1).
