Advisory Key - QA Team Leader

Primary Responsibilities

 

Planning & Strategy:

  • Manage the defined QA processes to ensure all standards are met
  • Can be assigned as QA representative on complex application development or maintenance projects
  • Team Leader responsible for determining and managing the work of other QA representatives, plus coaching and mentoring junior members of the team to best practices
  • Determines QA Work Breakdown Structure components for team members
  • Participate in release meetings for maintenance and development projects ensuring all platform requirements are met
  • Analyze project or requirement documents to identify test requirements
  • Develop Master Test Artefact / Test Strategy
  • Develop the Test Case documents according the Master Test Artefact/Test Strategy
  • Walkthrough the QA Test Cases and the QA Test Plan with the QA Team prior to execution
  • Execute test cases
  • Coordinate/Document actual test results and responsible for the end-to-end tracking of all issues found
  • Walk through the QA Test Results with the QA Team and communicate status to
  • Project leaders
  • Assist in defect investigation and escalation
  • Provide back-up to other QA testing projects as required
  • Provide the QA Analyst responsible for automation with application functionality work flow
  • Use defined/new methodologies and software to test new technologies/system functionality of moderate to difficult complexity to ensure business acceptance, user acceptance and system integration
  • Leads/directs the software test automation effort by developing formal test cases
  • Collaborates with other areas within IT to identify and improve testing tools and approaches
  • Use QA software tools for defect management, regression or automation testing

Relationships & Communication:

  • Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close
  • Facilitates complex group meetings and conducts information gathering sessions
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to business and technology partners, senior management and executives, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience
  • Resolves conflicts/issues and escalates others as appropriate
  • Manages the operations with 3rd party vendors

Development & Coaching:

  • Sets strategy for QA activities for team members
  • Defines team's deliverables, content and quality metrics
  • Ensures team has adequate training, consulting and tools to deliver objectives
  • Provides expertise, direction, coaching and development to build the team capability
  • Continually enhances own skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems

Education/Experience

  • Professional with experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties
  • University degree
  • Software Quality Certification - is expected to gain education/ certification
