BIL is currently seeking

 

A Senior Data Analyst to support the continuous improvement and deployment of the Data Governance capabilities at the Bank, in order to enforce our Data Quality & Governance Team and its growing activity. 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

You will ensure:

  • Clear and understandable definition of Data Quality Issues registered by different departments of the Bank (completeness of description, impact and criticality)
  • First level of issue qualification to make sure that IT Defects are re-directed to IT Teams, while only Data Quality issues are kept in the backlog. Understand if it is a quick fix or a more complex issue and identify potential Data Owners and Data Custodians related to each issue
  • For quick fix quality issues, work in collaboration of related Data Owners and Data Custodians to identify the origin of the issue and workarounds to remediate it properly but with minimal cost
  • For complex quality Issues, work in collaboration of related Data Owners and Data Custodians, prepare business case with complete impact analysis and resolution options to be presented at the Data Quality Forum
  • Reporting on Quality Issues on a recurring basis, to keep track on the evolution of all quality issues and escalate blocking points to the Data Quality Forum
  • Communication within the Data Governance team on status, evolution and blocking points
  • Assistance to the Data Governance Team Leader in the preparation of the Data Quality Committee
  • Onboarding of Data Community members into the Tool (Jira) and Process (Quality Issue Management): user access, configuration of the Jira tickets and step-by-step process

 

Must Have Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as Data Analyst in the Bank sector
  • Very good knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality best practices with proven experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Economics or Finance management - BAC + 5
  • Experience in Agile & Waterfall projects
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English and French. You are able to participate actively in English and French meetings
  • Banking know-how: good understanding of the banking products and services (previous experience in the sector is an asset)
  • Data modeling (design via HOPEX) and UML design for use cases is an asset
