Business Development Manager - European Institutions

As a member of our Sales team, the Business Development Manager supports the company's growth and expansion by leading strategic business development initiatives targeting European Institutions.

They are responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, securing contracts, and initiating long-term relationships with institutional clients.

Through a combination of market insight, commercial drive, and cross-functional collaboration, they contribute directly to the company's long-term institutional positioning and revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

Business opportunity development:

Define and develop a business development strategy focused on customer satisfaction and financial growth, in close collaboration with Account Management and Presales teams.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the EU institutional landscape.
Build and manage a solid pipeline of strategic opportunities aligned with organizational capabilities and growth ambitions.
Account Management:

Act as the main point of contact for newly acquired clients, managing onboarding and initial delivery phases.
Ensure client expectations and delivery capacities are aligned from day one.
Manage relationships during early stages before transitioning to the assigned Account Manager while maintaining a shared strategic approach.
Ensure smooth internal coordination and clear communication during transition phases.
Internal collaboration:

Work closely with the Presales team to oversee preparation of proposals, project requests, and proofs of concept.
Manage the full tender process including pre-qualification, consortium agreements, pricing strategy, and handover.
Collaborate with Account Managers and Service Managers to share insights and identify expansion opportunities.
Share market intelligence, client context, and strategic updates internally.
Contract value maximization:

Monitor contract uptake and ensure full strategic and commercial leverage.
Identify additional departments, clients, or DGs that could benefit from existing contracts.
Track and report contract usage to uncover scaling or extension opportunities.
Ensure internal awareness to activate contracts across all client-facing teams.
Relationship management:

Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through structured commercial plans.
Promote the company's services and solutions across institutional stakeholders.
Develop strategic alliances with partners, vendors, and consortium members.
Lead the end-to-end acquisition process from opportunity identification to contract signature.
Stay informed about market trends, institutional priorities, and upcoming tenders.
Skills:

Strong understanding of EU institutional frameworks and procurement processes.
Experience with public tenders and framework contracts.
Solid knowledge of business development strategies and pipeline management.
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales performance tracking.
Ability to manage complex bids and multi-stakeholder environments.
Organisational skills :

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple opportunities and priorities
Strong market analysis and commercial awareness
Proven ability to negotiate effectively
Skilled in delivering structured presentations and proposals
Experience working to and exceeding set targets

Profile :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, IT, or a related field.
Proven experience in business development within EU institutions or public sector environments.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English is required; French is a strong asset.
