Context
Our client, a major international financial institution based in Luxembourg, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Test Analyst to support projects involving business analysis, IT systems and data-related topics.
The consultant will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, assess impacts across the application landscape, define functional specifications and support the full testing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Functional Analysis
- Gather, analyze and understand business requirements.
- Prepare and maintain business analysis documentation such as BRA / BRD.
- Assess potential impacts on the existing IT architecture, systems and application landscape.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and system requirements.
- Define requirements using:

- User Stories in Agile environments.
- SRA / SRS / FRD documentation in Waterfall environments.
- Ensure clear communication of requirements between business and IT teams.
- Coordinate the review and validation of requirements with relevant stakeholders.
- Support clarification of functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define the overall testing strategy.
- Prepare detailed test plans.
- Design and document test cases and test scenarios.
- Execute functional and system testing.
- Coordinate and monitor test execution.
- Identify, document and follow up on defects or discrepancies.
- Ensure appropriate reporting on testing progress, results and outstanding issues.
- Contribute to the validation of delivered solutions against initial business requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst or similar role within complex IT environments.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering and functional analysis.
- Good understanding of IT systems, applications and architecture dependencies.
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Solid experience across the testing lifecycle, from strategy and preparation through execution and reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
Data Expertise
Experience with data-related projects would be a strong advantage, particularly:
- Strong SQL skills.
- Good understanding of data models and relationships.
- Knowledge of data cataloguing and data governance concepts.
- Ability to analyze and validate data across different systems and applications.
Business Knowledge
Knowledge or previous experience in the following areas would be highly valued:
- Fund Distribution
- Asset Management
- Securities / Investment Funds environments
- Financial services
