System Engineer - Windows environment
We are seeking an experienced System Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize the organization's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing Windows servers and workstation environments, Active Directory services, virtualization platforms, patch management, and cloud-based solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, VMware virtualization, and infrastructure management practices. You will work closely with internal IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure the availability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of the organization's infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administering, maintaining, and supporting Windows Server and Workstation environments ;
- Managing and maintaining AD services, including user accounts, groups, permissions ;
- Ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of infrastructure systems and services ;
- Deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows operating system updates, security patches, and hotfixes ;
- Administering and supporting VMware virtualized environments, including virtual machine provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance ;
- Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement ;
- Analysing and resolving complex infrastructure, system, and network-related incidents through root-cause analysis and corrective actions ;
- Managing system configurations, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure change activities ;
- Supporting cloud-based services and hybrid environments, ensuring secure integration with on-premises infrastructure ;
- Participating in backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes ;
- Managing incidents, service requests, and problem investigations using the organization's ticketing system, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) ;
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines ;
- Collaborating with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to support infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Competencies :
- Holding a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field ;
- Having at least 7 years of experience as a System Engineer or in a similar infrastructure-focused role ;
- Having a strong knowledge of Active Directory administration, Windows Servers & Workstation environments ;
- Having a strong experience in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows operating system updates, security patches, and hotfixes ;
- Having experience with administering and supporting VMware virtualized environments will be considered as an asset ;
- Having a good understanding of cloud/hybrid infrastructure environments, preferably MS Azure ;
- Being able to troubleshoot & diagnose technical issues effectively ;
- Being able to manage ticketing & incident management processes ;
- Having a good command of English (B2/C1) is mandatory
