As a member of our Infrastructure & Database Services Team, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, high availability, and lifecycle management of enterprise databases across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and cloud-managed services (AWS RDS/Aurora).
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our mission‑critical platforms.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Oracle 19c databases, including RAC, Data Guard, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Manage PostgreSQL 14-17 environments (standalone, master/slave, multi-master, VPN mesh) both on‑prem and in the cloud (AWS RDS/Aurora).
- Support MS SQL Server 2008 R2-2019 instances and AlwaysOn high‑availability configurations.
- Perform cross-platform activities: patching, upgrades, backup/restore, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate on infrastructure migrations and system architecture evolutions according to standards.
- Execute scripts, support release policies, and manage database versioning using Liquibase.
- Develop automation using Bash, Shell, Ansible; maintain CMDB accuracy.
- Design and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using the ELK stack.
- Perform performance tuning and provide technical support to application teams.
- Maintain documentation: knowledge articles, runbooks, and operational guidelines.
- Apply ITIL best practices and managed processes in ServiceNow (incidents, requests, changes, RFCs).
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit, and security standards.
- Participate in design reviews, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
Technical Skills
- Databases: Oracle (RAC, Data Guard), PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server.
- Scripting & Automation: SQL, PL/SQL, Bash/Shell, Ansible.
- Monitoring: ELK stack, performance and alerting tools integration.
- High Availability / DR: RAC, Data Guard, AlwaysOn.
- Cloud Platforms: AWS RDS PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora.
- Service Management: ITIL processes, ServiceNow (INC, RFC, Change).
- Release & Versioning: Liquibase, Git (OPS GIT), Subversion.
- OS Environments: Linux (RHEL), Windows Server.
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise database management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to manage complex environments and interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; French is a strong asset.
- Experience working in regulated and multi‑environment IT landscapes.
