Alter Domus - Application Support Engineer

For our office in Luxembourg, we are currently looking for an Application Support Engineer.

The Role


The successful candidate will focus on providing support to internal stakeholders, on several applications, including in-house made.



Your Responsibilities

  • Support a range of applications: Concur, SAP, Salesforce, SuccessFactors. Experience on SAP is necessary, in particular SD and MM modules.

  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors and Concur will clearly be preferred. Salesforce is not mandatory.

  • Knowledge of technologies like SQL, as well as Cognos or other similar business resources is highly desired.

  • Deal with standard application management activities (bug fixing, evolutions, access rights management, demand / change management...) and related technical infrastructure.

  • Monitor incoming demands regarding these applications and propose solutions in line with the overall system capability, and create and manage a service catalogue for existing and new services.

  • Define and manage the support services and supervise the application functionality, optimizing the application development, its performance (from the "service catalogue" or on request) and delivering the service in accordance with established SLAs, and taking proactive action to ensure a stable and secure application within its infrastructure and avoiding any potential service disruption.

  • Monitor network performance and liaise with the IT Incident Team daily.

  • Ensure the corrective, evolutionary and technical maintenance of the applications; identify project risks and define action plans to mitigate; manage escalations, crises and in exceptional situations define emergency action plans.

  • Produce documents and templates describing products, services, components of the application to establish compliance with relevant documentation requirements.


Your Profile

  • Knowledge of business and operation support systems applications.

  • Ability to interact effectively, demonstrate influence and conciliation leading others to embrace his/her opinion and reach a positive, accepted closure to a conflict.

  • At ease in a collaborative/cooperative work environment, and share tips and tricks with the rest of the team from different expertise, places and cultures to achieve collective goals.

  • Step in in the absence of Team Lead to communicate project progress to all relevant parties (PM, resource tracking, milestone tracking, budget tracking).

  • Ability to understand overall business strategy, long term user/ customer needs and translate that into IT Strategy, if requested
