Job description
- Backup Operator is responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting and operating Backup infrastructure
- The Backup Operator work internally as part of the Storage & Backup Team to ensure the integrity of high availability Backup infrastructure to provide maximum performance for the users.
- Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify Backup & Recovery related problems
- Participate in team collaboration to share on engineering efforts, technical challenges and breakthroughs
- Candidates for this position should be willing to perform shift work rotation (2 shifts from 7am to 8pm, major incidents and reviews (postmorterms)
- Work with vendors and team members to troubleshoot issues related to the operations (Problem management)
- Ensure assets are updated promptly in CMDB (Asset Management)
- Ensure all changes to systems are recorded and properly executed with approval (Change Management)

- Acts as a subject matter expert and expertly articulates solutions through written or verbal methods
- Trouble shoots complex problems quickly and effectively
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for the systems
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints resistance
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into Hardware and software specifications
