Job description
- In coordination with the Network Design Team, Network engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting and operating communication networks
- The Network Engineer works internally as part of the IT Network Team to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for the users.
- Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify Network related problems within the following domains : LAN, WAN, WiFi
- The network is divided in several security zones (LAN, DMZ) across different sites and countries
- The Network consists of Cisco Routers/switches, Firewalls, Load balancer, Authentication solutions and others equipments of differents constructors
- Participate in team collaboration to share on engineering efforts, technical challenges and breakthroughs
- Candidates for this position should be willing to perform shift work rotation and participate in 24/7 oncall rotation, major incidents and reviews
- Work with vendors and team members to troubleshoot issues related to the operations (Problem management)
- Ensure assets are updated promptly in CMDB (Asset Management)
- Ensure all changes to systems are recorded and properly executed with approval (Change Management)
Organisational skills
- Acts as a subject matter expert and expertly articulates solutions through written or verbal methods
- Trouble shoots complex problems quickly and effectively
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for the systems
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into Hardware and software specifications
- Resistance to stress
- Team spirit, sense of communication
- French and English are compulsory
Desired technical skills
- Wireless knowledge
- Security knowledge (Authentication, Firewalls, Proxies, Reverse Proxies, VPN...)
- CCNA or equivalent knowledge will be considered as a strong asset
