As an Infrastructure Technician, you will be part of the "Foundation Services" team (35 employees across 3 countries), playing a pivotal role in ensuring the continuity and evolution of IT services within the Parliament's remote offices across Europe.
This role is ideal for an autonomous, reliable, and highly available candidate ready to travel frequently for high-priority technical missions.
Key Responsibilities ("Globetrotter" Mission)
Your primary mission is to ensure technical excellence and maintenance of IT infrastructures at the European Parliament's remote sites, with a strong focus on mobility:
- Frequent Travel: Conduct technical missions at our client's remote offices, with required availability for 2-day trips every 1 to 2 weeks.
- Network Interventions: Perform replacement, configuration, and update of network equipment (Switches, Routers, security devices, Wi-Fi access points).
- Internet Link Management: Ensure the change, installation, and qualification of Internet services and lines (WAN/LAN) at various sites.
- Documentation : Draft, update, and maintain all technical documentation (infrastructure plans, technical sheets, operational procedures) following interventions.
Key Technical Skills
- IT Infrastructure & Hardware: Installation, configuration, and modification of IT infrastructure equipment (network devices, security elements, Wi-Fi).
- Structured Cabling: Full mastery of standards and practices for installation and maintenance of IT cabling.
- Networking (LAN/WAN) and Wi-Fi: Solid knowledge of network architectures, protocols, and wireless connectivity technologies.
- IT Asset Management (ITAM): Proven experience in inventory management (registration, traceability, CMDB, statistics, and reporting) and overseeing the equipment lifecycle (reception, installation, relocation, decommissioning).
- Capacity Planning & Reporting: Proactive monitoring of IT infrastructure capacity, production of detailed reports, and proposal of improvements.
Required Profile
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing server rooms or large corporate IT environments.
- Mobility : Mandatory availability for frequent travel (2 days / every 1-2 weeks) to remote sites across Europe + Washington.
- Qualities : Autonomy, high reliability, rigor, and strong sense of responsibility.
- Soft Skills : Analytical skills and ability to effectively analyze and solve problems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Languages : Fluency in English (mandatory). French is a strong asset (for technical communication and on-site interactions).
- Location : Position based in Brussels (Belgium), on the client's premises.
- Limited remote work is offered for this on-site and mobile role.
