Halian - IT Operator / HelpDesk

Halian is currently looking for an IT Operator - HelpDesk to join one of our major partners.



Job Duties

  • Ensure a smooth running of everyday operations providing first and second line support and focus on providing maximum possible level of service availability of the production systems.
  • Contribute to deliverables delegated by the Service Leader or Leading Expert.
  • Escalate issues in accordance with the departments Service Level Agreement's and in accordance with escalation process, while still owning problems from resolution through to closure.
  • Contribute to an efficient collaboration within the team charter.
  • Build-up expertise.
  • Contribute to anticipate the exploitation of technologies.
  • Resolve routing questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Produces production deliverables independently or together with other team members under control of a service leader or a Leading Expert.
  • Implements effectively the technologies and applies quality principles, security standards, architecture guidelines and production rules.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly operational tasks as set out by the operations Service Leader.
  • Indicates progress on achievements and open items and defines the Etc.
  • Demonstrates proactive attitude relating to problem resolution, improvement of utilisation rate and optimisation of idle time.
  • Contributes to efficient knowledge management by sharing technical knowledge with other team members.
  • Identifies proactively with Leading Experts skills to improve in order to develop the expertise and build-up career pathways.
  • Proposes innovation actions in his/her domain of technologies.
  • Works in shift, participates to On-Call system and Go Live process.
  • Shift until Saturday noon.
  • Promotes a strong collaboration and mutual respect between colleagues, with Leading Experts and towards customers.
  • Participates to the handover to the following teams.
  • Follows operational procedures and keeping current with existing software, Hardware and technology.



  • Education (orientation): Information & Communication Technology.
  • Education (required level): BAC + 3 or equivalent
  • Language: French and English.
  • Banking techniques: Any knowledge of banking business is an asset.
  • IT tools: Sound knowledge of technologies for its dedicated domain (language, database, development tools).
  • Sound knowledge of development techniques and methodologies.
  • Proven experience interacting with other teams is an asset.
  • Sense of innovation.
  • Good analytical skills. 
  • Good organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Ability to recognize problems and resolve or refer them to the next level for resolution.
  • Experience with change requests, service requests, service level agreements, configuration management, release management, incident management, and problem management;
  • Sound communication skills are an asset.
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required.
  • Experience (number of years): 3 years minimum required.
  • Other requirements
  • Teamwork.
  • Nice to have:
    • Knowledge of IBM Workload Scheduler (or any other scheduler)
    • Knowledge of Windows and / or Linux
