Senior Network Engineer (M/W/X)

The Network Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, optimisation, and evolution of the client corporate network infrastructures, covering LAN, WAN, Cybernet (Wi‑Fi), DMZ/Internet, xDSL, and Remote Access environments. The engineer ensures network performance, security, high availability, scalability, and supports mission-critical services across all client campuses and datacenters.

 

Corporate LAN Operations

- Operate EP's LAN across Brussels, Luxembourg, and Strasbourg.

- Manage hierarchical CORE / DISTRIBUTION / ACCESS Cisco-based networks.

- Maintain high availability, redundancy, load balancing, and fast convergence mechanisms.

- Support VLANs, ACLs, QoS, jumbo frames, EtherChannel, VSS, MSTP, LACP.

- Manage migrations toward C9500-XX, C9400, C9300, C9600 series.

 

 

Cybernet Network & Wi‑Fi

- Operate two large-scale Wi‑Fi infrastructures (Cisco 98xx + Aruba controllers).

- Monitor and optimise ~6500 Access Points across all campuses.

- Support advanced RF management (Cisco RRM / Aruba ARM), multiple SSIDs, WPA2/WPA3, 802.1x, guest portals, and VxLAN remote AP environments.

- Ensure performance during major political events (>2000 concurrent users).

 

WAN / MPLS Network

- Operate MPLS-based interconnection between campuses and datacenters.

- Support ASR9K routers, BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, L3VPN, VPLS, DiffServ QoS, and Traffic Engineering.

- Manage encrypted links over DWDM infrastructures.

 

 

Internet Access & DMZ

- Support EP's 20Gb/s + 5Gb/s Internet access lines.

- Operate protected multi-zone architectures behind firewalls and proxies.

- Work with anti‑DDoS solutions and Infoblox DNS clusters.

 

 

Remote Access

- Support EP's secure mobility: VPN, Cisco ASA, IronPort, and identity-based access.

- Manage connectivity for 4000-5000 simultaneous remote users.

- Support 39 EP Remote Offices.

 

 

Tools & Monitoring

- Use Cisco Catalyst Center (former DNA Center), Aruba Airwave, Cisco Prime, CA DX Netops, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Insights, Ekahau.

- Operate Netscout TAPs, NGeniusOne, vStream collectors.

- Support OOB network for console access on strategic devices.

 

 

Operational Responsibilities

- Security management and urgent IOS updates.

- Configuration backup/restore, hardware/software upgrades.

- Fault, incident, problem, and change management.

- Performance analysis using advanced monitoring tools.

- Asset and inventory management.

- Maintain IPAM data and manage DNS/DHCP via VitalQIP.

- Coordinate with EP engineering teams and manufacturer TAC.

- Manage Cisco SSM licensing platform.

 

Experience

- 7+ years in complex enterprise network operations.

- Strong experience with Cisco switching/routing, Wi‑Fi, MPLS, BGP, OSPF.

- Experience with large multi-site environments, high availability, and secure designs.

 

 

Key Competencies

- Cisco Enterprise Networks (C9K family, ASR, ACI basics).

- Wireless Technologies: Cisco 38xx/37xx, Aruba 5xx/6xx.

- MPLS technologies, VPNs, encryption, DWDM links.

- Network security, firewalls, authentication (802.1x, TACACS+, RADIUS).

- Monitoring and analysis using Catalyst Center, Airwave, DX Netops, Ekahau.

-Fluent in English (French is an asset)
