Telindus - Windows Architect

Task Description

  • The Architect is responsible for definition of complex data centre infrastructures and architectures for at least one of the domains related to this call for tender. He or she is a technical leader in the relevant domain, most of the times in multiple datacentre domains.
  • Architect will also assist project teams with technical issues including the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy, research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out solutions.
  • Environment and activities:
  • The Windows team that will be in charge of the operations will be in front line from two main services. The Service Desk will dispatch some categorized and prioritized tickets related to Windows incidents. The other incoming information will be brought by the Project Management services with specification and business requirements that are based on the windows platform.
  • In order to strengthen the Service Desk, the Front Office Group will propose some procedures and tool improvements. The Back Office group will then review and validate the proposal and implement it. A knowledge transfer will be ensured. From a change and release management point of view, the Back Office group will take in charge the activities linked to the projects. They will operate the changes,
  • These two groups will remain very close in order to gain from the experiences and expertise from each other. The Team Leader will organize some internal service review in order to exchange on issues met during periods of activities (weekly). He will also include in the planning a job rotation in order to spread the knowledge and skills. These two samples of key activities will allow a Continual Service Improvement of the team.
  • There are a broad range of activities performed within the Windows service to ensure the quality delivery of each individual service. Below you will find an overall picture of the most common activities.

  • Architectural studies and technical documentation, design and review of strategies, policies and best practices
  • Organizational skills and analytical ability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management
  • Team working ability, communication and leadership skills
  • Capability to manage small technical projects
  • Capable to produce concise technical documentation
  • Solid documentation skills
  • Participation in product evaluation and project management
  • Define policies and standard operating procedures (SOP) to be used by the operational teams
  • Problem solving in a Problem Management context

  • Capacity management of the infrastructure used for the technological domain
  • Provides technical lead for concerned technological domains
  • Skills: Good knowledge in several of the following tools is required:
    • Directory Services: AD DS, DNS, DHCP, AD DS Group Policy, DFS,
    • Security : KMS, Recovery Manager for AD, WSUS, MacAfee, vSEC:CMS, Getthis, eWallet, Blanco, Awesome Password Generator, Logging System, CyberArk
    • Automation: System Centre Orchestrator, DECK,
    • Configuration System & Deployment: SCCM, SCOM, WIFFHI
  • Soft skills:
    • You have at least 6 years of experience in Windows domain within a large environment and in a similar position;
    • You own an In-depth technical knowledge of the concerned domain (Senior Level
    • Knowledge or willing to learn Cyberark is an asset
    • You own an university degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training;
    • You possess the ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, capable of self-study;
    • In addition to your strong communication skills, you are structured, process minded and able to maintain the high level overview
    • You are fluent in English (at least B2 Level). French is considered as an asset;
    • You can work independently and can manage your time;
    • You are eager to work in a dynamic multi-national environment with a strong customer focus;
    • You are willing to travel in order to attend industry events and customer meetings.
