Lux-Advisory is a company specializing in finance. Our consultants take part in European or International projects. To support the increase of our activity, we are currently looking for an IT VBA Consultant (part time 50%).
Mission
The objective is to provide high‑quality support for VBA-based applications and related macros. The Consultant will ensure effective change management, documentation, testing, and deployment of new and existing features. The objective also includes maintaining strong stakeholder communication, managing risks, and coordinating with subject matter experts to gather business requirements. Additionally, the Consultant will deliver complete and reliable technical documentation, test materials, and training content. Overall, the aim is to secure a qualified expert who can efficiently support ongoing operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Services Description
The Consultant is expected to deliver the following services:
Support Services:
· Support several end user computing applications (the “EUCA”s), i.e., VBA and Python applications, macros, and PowerBI dashboards for the different divisions
· Maintain customer relationships within different divisions, manage the change process and ensure smooth communication
· Act as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to new and current industry practices
· Identify risks and liaise on issues related to changes
· Work with the subject matter experts to gather business requirements and any other relevant input
Tasks:
· Develop new required features in the VBA / Python applications/macros and PowerBI dashboards
· Follow up on deliverables related to these applications with internal and external parties
· Prepare documents to support internal decision making, testing or training material
· Develop and execute an internal communication plan for changes and new features to the business
· Perform testing, change management documentation and support the deployment of the technology and hand over to production support
· Ensure all material is stored on the SharePoint environment for audit purposes
· Support other division related tasks as applicable such as organizing and running meetings
· Develop agendas, prepare minutes, follow up on open actions, identifying risk and issues with appropriate mitigating actions
· Participate in handover of VBA, Java, and SQL applications and their corresponding documentation
· Participate in handover of development and change management processes
· Provide handover protocol to document the completeness of handover tasks
Deliverables
The Consultant will be responsible for providing the following deliverables:
· Produce files in MS Office formats including the project VBA code, if applicable
· Complete reliable functional and technical documentation about the implemented functionality
· Perform test management
· Create and execute relevant test cases, demonstrating the expected behavior in terms of requirements fulfillment and software quality
· Create training material, conduct training if necessary, and other change management material as needed to support the change management process
· Manage internal and external communication
Technical skills
· Mandatory:
o Bachelor's degree in information technology, data science, or equivalent degree/experience
o 7+ years of direct experience with similar and relevant IT projects
o Development and rollout experience with VBA and MS Office Macros (Access & Excel)
o Good understanding of modern IT architecture
o Good understanding of and experience with: SQL, XML, XSLT
o Good project management skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities
o Experience in providing reporting and other communications at a senior management level
o Ability to document clear and complete business requirements
· Desired:
o Experience with Microsoft Azure
o Professional experience with Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric
o Experience in the financial services industry
o Experience with the following financial IT systems: SWIFT, Murex, Bloomberg
