Position overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product/Service Owner to lead the strategic planning, development, and management of our critical Database Services. As an integral member of our IT services team dedicated to serving a public administration, you will play a key role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of the database services, with a focus on Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL.
Responsibilities
- Platform Vision and Strategy
- Develop a clear and comprehensive vision for the Database Services, aligning it with the overall IT strategy and objectives of the public administration.
- Formulate and execute a strategic roadmap that outlines enhancements, upgrades, and expansions for the database services.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including database administrators, system architects, and IT managers, to understand their requirements and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Establish strong relationships with external stakeholders within the public administration to ensure the database services meet their evolving needs.
- Database Service Development and Management
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the database services, including design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance.
- Work closely with database administrators and development teams to prioritize features, upgrades, and patches based on business value and impact.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the database services, proactively identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
- Implement optimization strategies to enhance database efficiency, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Security and Compliance
- Collaborate with security experts to ensure that the database services adhere to industry best practices and comply with relevant regulations.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data stored within the databases.
- Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with database vendors, ensuring timely updates, support, and alignment with the public administration's requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or tools that could enhance the database services.
- Documentation and Training
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database services, including configuration guides, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Organize and conduct training sessions to empower internal teams and stakeholders in effectively using and managing the database services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience (min 5years) as a Product Owner or Service Owner in managing database services, especially with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL
- Strong understanding of database architectures, technologies, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with public administration processes and compliance requirements is a plus

- EU work permit
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in any other European language is a plus.
